April
My goal is for your children to become independent lifelong learners!
Here are some of the things we will be learning in our content areas:
In Writer's Workshop: We are working on Poetry . Students will be reading some poems and writing their own poems. They will learn all about the parts of a poem and why they are soooo much fun to read and listen to.
In Reading Workshop: students are learning all about Poetry. They are also reading their just right books and working on making meaning when they read.
Phonics: Our phonics focus this month is word families. We are also continuing our letter of the week and introducing our popcorn words! Please practice the letter sounds each day as the repetition will help them to be fantastic writers.
In Math: We are a learning about Linus the Minus. Our focus is subtraction within 5 and we will start to learn about symmetry.
In Science/Social Studies:: We are learning all about Living and Nonliving things. We will also learn all about Earth day and recycling.
